The $500 drop

IVF is full of stress. Stress from the feeling of not being able to do what your body is built to do, stress from the weight gain, stress from feeling like your friends/family ‘don’t get you’, stress from the abnormal amount of synthetic hormones flowing through your body, and stress from the financial strain a $30K round of IVF can take on a family.

Ok, we get it… you are really effing stressed.

You know what makes you even more stressed? Dropping a brand new container of Lupron on the bathroom tile and watching it pour out into a sea of glass and grout in slow motion. Can I use a syringe and suck it up? Can put it back in the broken container somehow? Should I just lick it up quickly because this shit is expensive?

At least my nails are on point

At least my nails are on point

The answer is no. It’s gone!

Maybe, just maybe you can use a filter syringe to suck up what’s still in the container, but I’m going to call this one a day and have a good cry.

Learn from me ladies, please be more careful when drawing up your meds. The $500+ I could have spent on a new bag (yes, that’s where my head goes first), holiday gifts, a flight somewhere fun, or to pay a doctor bill is now laying on my bathroom floor because I never ever thought about the fact that I could drop it.

P.S. someone told me (afterward of course) that you should always draw up your meds on carpet.
